Re: Letter to the Faithful from Bishop Bradley regarding Lifting of the General Dispensation effective May 22/23, 2021
Dear Parish Colleagues,
As has been shared with the clergy, Bishop Bradley, after much prayerful discernment and in consultation with the priests and diocesan leadership, has made the decision to lift the General Dispensation from the Obligation to attend Sunday Mass effective Pentecost weekend, May 22/23, 2021. Bishop Bradley has written a Letter to the Faithful (see attached) explaining this update. [Please note that the Spanish translation will be sent tomorrow.]
Please share this letter with your Parish communities by distributing at the Masses this weekend if you are able and posting on your social media channels. Additionally, we have posted on our diocesan website in the News module. If you have this on your Parish website, it will automatically update.
Bishop Bradley is planning to release a video message to the Faithful in the coming days as well.
Thank you for your attention to our request. Please contact me with any questions or if there are any additional resources we can provide
