KALAMAZOO, Mich. (June 5, 2020): The Catholic funeral rites for Bishop Emeritus James A. Murray, third bishop for the Catholic Diocese of Kalamazoo, who passed away today, will take place next Wednesday, June 10th and Thursday, June 11th, at St. Augustine Cathedral, 542 W. Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo. Due to the current restrictions for capacity, attendance at the Mass of Christian Burial is limited with preference seating for family, friends and clergy. The public are encouraged to pay their respects during the Visitation hours. The Mass will be live streamed on the diocesan website:

Additionally, the Diocese will hold a special diocesan-wide Memorial Mass in honor of Bishop Murray on Sunday, August 2nd at 2 p.m., St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Portage (due to construction at St. Augustine Cathedral). More details on the Memorial Mass will be released later.
