The Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 to provide a means by which Catholic men could support the Catholic Church, provide financial protection for their families, and engage in works of charity to benefit the less fortunate.
Today, its nearly 1.8 million members make up the largest Catholic lay organization in the world, its insurance program has $74 billion of life insurance in force, and last year Knights donated more than $150 million and volunteered 68 million hours of their time to charity. From helping children in need to providing wheelchairs for the physically disabled and support for the intellectually handicapped, from helping to stock food banks to offering top-rated and affordable life insurance to its members, the Knights has been at the service of the communities in which we live and the needy around the world for more than 127 years.

Congratulations to Kirby Newnum and Dan Northup who became 3rd degree Knights after going through the exemplification ceremony at St. Mary's Church. Thank-you to our exemplification team made up of Presiding Officer Roger Pamment, Father Richard, Deacon Duane, Jim Clauto, Tim Janssen, Bill Zolp, and Wayne Wilhelmi, There is a part of the exemplification ceremony that asks all Knights in attendance to join the new Knights in pledging their commitment to the three virtues of being a Knight of Columbus, Charity, Unity and Fraternity. We show these three virtues when we work together to deliver Coats for Kids to keep them warm in the winter, when we deliver food to the food pantry, when we support St. Mary's School, when we collect money for adults with mental disabilities, when we pray the rosary and when we mourn the lost of a brother Knight or his spouse. Thank-you all for your continuing support of the Knights and everything you do to generate the funds we need to continue our many programs.
