KALAMAZOO, MI (November 6, 2024): Bishop Edward M. Lohse has offered the following words to the Faithful of the Diocese of Kalamazoo:
“As our nation now moves beyond election day, my prayers are with all of you. It is important for us as Catholics to remember that our truest identity is rooted in the person of Jesus. In Him alone, we discover who we truly are and who we are called to be. Our identity in Christ transcends languages and nations, political parties and economic systems. May the unity which is ours in Christ help us to promote a broader unity with all our fellow citizens, all children of the same heavenly Father.
"I invite everyone to join me in continuing to pray for our elected officials, for all who serve in the interest of the common good, for our nation, and for the flourishing of justice, peace and mutual respect. May we always strive to have the heart and mind of Christ in all we do and say.”
